Never did Leah think anyone would understand her. Never did she think that anyone else could know what it was like to be an outcast. That no one would ever understand why she felt so alone...

"YOU'RE NOT ALONE."

That was until she discovered Black Veil Brides...

You see, Leah is the girl that likes to wear black and listen to metal. She loves to draw and she loves write. But from just looking at her appearance people immediately shut her out or treat her like a freak. Other kids in her school don't even take the time of day to look at her drawings when she finishes them, or listen to her when she reads her poems or stories in the class, no one even stops in the hall to say hello.
Leah usually sits all by herself at lunch. Sometimes she even tries to sit with other kids but they just get up and move away. Being a teenager and not being able to fit in sucks big time. And in Leah's case she often feels like an outcast...

"THIS RECORD IS FOR THE OUTCASTS."

Leah just puts up with it. She knows that  there is nothing she can to or say to make people treat her differently. She tries to talk to other kids but they just laugh in her face then walk away. Leah just kind of hangs her head in sadness then walks down the hall in the opposite direction. Kids snicker at her as she passes by. Leah tries the best she can to ignore the laughter. But sometimes her emotions get the best of her and little tears will start to form in her eyes, then spill over slowly making their way down her face...

"THE TEARS WE'VE CRIED."

Everyday Leah walks home alone listening to her the radio app on her iPod. She doesn't go a day without listening to her favorite metal station.  Listening to all of her favorite bands after school cheers her up somewhat.  Or at least it helps her forget her problems.
Then one day Leah ran from school. The kids were being extra cruel today. She ran home and locked herself in her room with her iPod turned up all the way, so she could hear the phone if it rang or knocking on the door if someone was there. Leah just sobbed on her bed listening to her favorite metal station. But it seems that nothing could cheer her up today...

"THE DAMAGE INFLICTED."

Leah stared at herself in her bedroom mirror. She didn't even recognize herself. Her black eyeliner was streaked down her damp face while the tears still fell. Never has Leah looked this way. And never has she been this upset. It's like she has finally given up on people and finally given up on herself...

"NEVER GIVE IN."

Just when Leah thought it was all over, that her faith and hope in herself was gone...then an unfamiliar song began to play on her iPod. She walked from the mirror to her bed and sat. The tears in her eyes had quite building up. A little smile even started to cross her face as she listened to the lyrics coming from this unfamiliar voice...

"WHEN YOUR LIFE FEELS LOST, FIGHT AGAINST ALL ODDS! NEVER GIVE IN, NEVER BACK DOWN!"
Leah's eyes just lit up. Finally, someone understands her! Finally there is someone else out there that feels the way that she does everyday. It was like a huge weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. This guys voice was full of emotion and Leah could feel exactly the way he felt.
Leah was saddened when the song ended but she was immediately happy again when the radio DJ announced  the song name and the band that preformed it. The song was called: Never Give In by Black Veil Brides...

"WE ARE THE BLACK VEIL
BRIDES."

Leah immediately downloaded their album "We Stitch These Wounds." Which she'll just end up buying the CD anyway. Leah is the kind of person that has to have the CD. But she was so excited she didn't even care if she was going to end up paying for it twice.
While Leah listened to the album in her iTunes she read, and read,  and read article after article about Black Veil Brides. She tried to get all the information  she could on every band member. Leah stayed up taking notes on each article or wrote down quotes in her notebook.

"I RAISE MY HEART AND SING!"

From that day on Leah was a diehard Black Veil Brides fan. Black Veil Brides photos joined all of the other band photos on her walls. On that one day at that very moment Never give In ended, Leah felt as if someone had finally reached out to her and said that everything was going to be okay, and that she wasn't alone...

"YOU'RE NOT ALONE."
I am in love with Black Veil Brides. So I thought why not write a short story.
